Why don’t we hold Mysore classes on the new moon or the full moon? Taking rest from the regular asana practice on moon days (tithis) has long been a tradition in Ashtanga Yoga. These are auspicious days, and the tradition asserts that our bodies and mental state are affected by the phases of the moon. This is a perfect time to allow your body to rest and regenerate while delving into other aspects of yoga besides asana such as pranayama, chanting, and study of the yamas & niyamas. Tomorrow is the full phone, so Mysore at 6am will be canceled as usual. All other classes remain the same.
